We all know how scary firsts can be. Even if your dancer has been twirling all over the living room and begging to be signed up for dance classes, the first day of dance is no different from any other first.
When all is said and done, your dancer is probably going to have an amazing first class. Most kids do!

Our Fall session is upon us and we could not be more excited! If you're gearing up for your dancers first class, you may have a lot of questions. We want to make sure you and your dancer have a great first experience with us, so we have broken down a few things for you.
That way your dancer can walk into their first class with confidence and a smile!
What does my child wear to class?
Dance Lyfe has a dress code for uniformity and class control. For all classes hair must be pulled away from the face. Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shining Starz wear a class dress each in their class color and tights. Shooting, Show, and Super Starz wear their class colored leotard and white skirt or black dance shorts. Dancers should wear the appropriate shoes to class (ballet shoes in ballet, tap shoes in tap, etc.) Please don't wear baggy clothes or jewelry on the dance floor.
If you have questions regarding dress code or need to purchase something, please contact us as all dance wear is sold at the studio.
Can I watch my child's class?
During Bring A Friend Week, and dress rehearsal for the holiday show and end of year production are the only times parents can stay and watch the class.
"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way." – Wayne Dyer
Are there any rules at dance class?
The expectations at dance class are very similar to those at school. We expect dancers to be respectful of themselves, their peers, and the teachers. Doing so will ensure everyone has a great class!
What time to arrive for class?
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early for the start of class. Having a few extra minutes to use the restroom, change shoes, and greet friends before dance class is started.
Anything else we should know?
We'll do everything we can to make sure you know what's happening in the studio. Check Facebook, Instagram, read the memos, email us, and/or text us with any questions. We are here to make you feel at home, and we know when you feel comfortable your dancer will too.
So are you ready for an Amazing week at dance?
